In Los Angeles Small Claims Court, can I sue for "wasted time" or "lost time" because of all the letters and calls the opposing side forced me to deal with before he ever sued?

If you have a cross-complaint against the plaintiff, and you can prove you would have been paid for your time, for example you are a doctor, dentist, lawyer, or shrink, go for it. Bring your appointment book,

You can try, but don't count on recovering anything. People are generally expected to bear their own expense of being in a beef with someone, just like bearing their own attorneys fees.
