Legal Question in Civil Litigation in California

Lost custody of my now 11 year old daughter to her fathers parents.Due to the report the judge received from the clinical psychologist.The Dr. was suppose to re-evaluate the parents,we had psyc evals done when we first divorced.This time the grandparents wanted custody from me.The orders where to do full psyc evals,on any other persons who might be considered for custody of my daughter.The Dr. did not psyc eval the grandparents.Then told the judge that the grandparent should have custody.My daughters father is mentally ill and has supervised visitation.I had sole custody.There are several other things this Dr. did that have put my daughter at risk.I over a year ago filed a complaint with the State Board Of Psychology.Last week i was notified that they had concluded the investigation of my complaint,And have forwarded the case to the Attorney Generals Office for review. And consideration of disciplinary action.What i want to know is when this is concluded,and the Dr. is held accountable for what she did wrong.Can i sue the Dr.personally,and the Insurance co?.What kind of attorney do i need to hire?And how much can i sue the Dr. for?

The doctor may have judicial immunity and be immune from a lawsuit, and it is not clear what insurance you are referring to (although there is probably no liability by an insurance carrier that covered the cost of the doctor.)

That being said, you should immediately consult with an attorney with experience in professional malpractice to discuss the particulars of your case; there may be facts and nuances that create the possibility of liaibility.
