Man sued by neighbor for feeding pigeons

Neighbor is sued for $2000. for feeding pigeons and wild birds near a neighbor's property. Plantiff claims that neighbor feeding birds is the cause of damage to furniture and other things in and outside of his home. Can this stand up in court?
