Legal Question in Civil Litigation in California
I'm in the middle of a law suit that has been dragging out for almost three years. I don't have a penny to my name and i've been battling their attorney myself. Holding my head above water but I need this to come to an end soon. The entire case is over a trade secret customer list from a company that was dissolved and then purchased by the minority shareholders son for half of it's value and one day after all the bids were recieved and closed and after the minority shareholder had a chance to review the bids and report to his son to bid $500 more than the highest bidder. The reciever is good friends with the plaintiff and his son and asked the court to approve everything they asked for. We have been asked over 700 special interrogatory questions and to produce over 5000 documents. This is so budensome. They are also asking for a couple of million dollars for mental anguish. I don't have any money, my new business is barely bringing in enough money to put food on the table for my kids. How to I stop this lawsuit or speed it up? You can't get blood out of a turnip! If I ask for it to go to arbitration, what happens with the case at that point?
Please advise,
Thank you

you need a lawyer. You can oppose the discovery, but it is probably too late for arbitration. There will be a settlement confrrence before teh trial date. good luck
