Legal Question in Civil Litigation in California

If I was misrepresented/ sold out! in a civil suit and filed a complaint against the attorney which was basically denied and then later this same attorney was disbarred for the exact things I filed a complaint against him for, do I have legal grounds to re file my case based on this decision, or some other legal recourse?

You need to consult with an attorney. Your question is too complex to get information over the internet. Take all of your documents and the complaint to the state bar with you. A copy the the complaint that resulted in him being disbarred can be obtained from the state bar.

Whether you have a viable case against the lawyer has surprisingly little to do with the fact he was later disbarred for similar conduct. You could have sued him before even though your complaint didn't lead to any discipline. His subsequent disbarment does not give you any additional rights. It might make your case easier to prove, but there are a variety of reasons why it might not.

Whether you can still sue the lawyer will depend on how much time has passed. There are strict deadlines for any civil claim. It's quite possible that your statute of limitations has expired by now, though of course I can't say whether it has since you haven't provided enough details or told us when any of these things happened.

As Mr. Johnson suggests, you should spend some time discussing your case with a lawyer so that you can get some concrete guidance. And you should do this ASAP. For all we know, your deadline could be just around the corner.

Good luck.
