Legal Question in Civil Litigation in California

Can my neighbor come on my property and cut limbs off my tree that he said was getting sap on his car without me knowing about it? These limbs were not over hanging his drive way. I had already cut the ones over hanging his drive way at his request.

Also he piled them up in front of my house in the street.

Your neighbor had the right to prune the trees back to the property line. He does not, however, have the right to come on your property and trim the portions on your property. That is trespass.
