Legal Question in Civil Litigation in California

My neighbor stares in my window from his garage.

My family and I rent an apartment face to face with

our neighbors apartment. We have had problems with our neighbor in the past about our privacy. Now everyday

the man opens his garage, sits in his chair and stares at our window day and night. I want to open my window without a peeping-tom. Do I take photos and complain to the police? or what. What can we do?

Be a good neighbor and talk to the man about your discomfort. If he refuses to stop staring at your window, talk to your landlord. I do not think this is a true 'peeping tom' situation. You need to remember that living in an apartment does not allow you complete privacy.

He's allowed to do that. Open a different window.
