Legal Question in Civil Litigation in California
My neighbor is telling anyone that will listen that my son is on drugs. Is there anything I can do?

Not legally unless you can prove it is false and can prove financial losses because of it.
Go and talk to the neighbor to find out why they are saying that and what would get them to stop. even if your son has no financial loss, saying he is on drugs does defame him and might entitle him to nominal damages, so he might want to sue in Small Claims Court to show the neighbor there can be consequences to their action.
Have me, or another attorney, send a letter letting him know he is committing slander, and that if he does not stop, you will take legal action. Send me an email if you want me to help you with this. I will be polite, and he will probably stop.
