Nusiance tree

May I trim back a tree overhangig my property and pool,causing damage, ownwer of tree next door refuses to trim it.

Any of the tree on your side of the line, may be cut back. It is appropriate and not as upsetting if you do it carefully, with some knowledge of what you are doing. Consult a gardener.

You can do so, but you should not in any manner shape or form go over the property line. Also, you must do so carefully.
