Legal Question in Civil Litigation in California

Oil Change at Walmart

On 6/1/00 I took my 2000 Kia Sephia to Walmart for an oil change. On 6/2/00 my car locked up on me because it had no oil in it. Walmart had not put the oil plug back on. On 6/3/00 at about 8:30 p.m Walmart finally responds by getting me a rental car. I would like to know what rights I have and how can I go about getting my car repaired and to be compensated.

Thank You

Re: Oil Change at Walmart

If they have gotten you a rental car then they have basically admitted fault for the damage to your vehicle. You should demand, in writing, that they repair your vehicle to your satisfaction or agree to pay another mechanic to fix the vehicle. I would take it to another mechanic and get an estimate on how much it will cost to fix your vehicle. See what they say. If they refuse, give me a call sometimes a nasty letter from a lawyer gets results. My toll free number is 877-546-9918. I hope your written demand works, if not I look forward to hearing from you.

Sincerely,

John Hayes
