Legal Question in Civil Litigation in California
Parent Responsibility
I was wondering if a person is 21 and still living at home and being supported by his parents if they are liable for him?

Re: Parent Responsibility
The short answer is a general no. The long answer is "it depends" upon the facts! Example, if you and your parents engaged in some conspiratorial act that caused harm, then they could be liable. If there is no joint activity and you just mess up (not at your parents house) then they generally have no liability to 3rd persons for your acts.

Mr Geyer is correct however, in addition, if they have a homeowner's or renter's policy that covers negilent conduct that insurance may provide coverage.
