Legal Question in Civil Litigation in California

Park Manager Slander - What do we do?

Our mobile home park manager has gone to the person I am lease/optioning

the mobile home from and told her that we are dealing drugs, as well as

her father who is the overall owner and many other tenants and others as well. When I put my horse on an adjascent property, she called the park owner and claimed that we were boarding our horse on the park property. I had a routine probation search ( I am on searchable probation ) and she called the man we bought the mobile from as well as his daughter and the owner of the park telling them, and other residents, that we were arrested for dealing drugs by the narcartics cops. This is completely untrue and has been a rumor she's been spreading for months now. We are so upset. I have proof that it was a routine probation search. I don't know what to do. I am on permanent disability and unable to afford an attorney. Can someone help? There's unfortunately too much to post here.

Re: Park Manager Slander - What do we do?

In order to sue her in court you would have to prove that her slander caused you harm. If you fear for your safety you may be able to get a restraining order against her which would cost about $200 for the filing fee. If you are low income you can look in your phone book for legal aid. It is a special group that gets most of its money from the government. Good luck.
