Legal Question in Civil Litigation in California

If I let someone take over payments on my vehicle and they havent made payments for the last couple of months, can i sue them? what would be the outcom of that? i have tried calling the cops to get my car back, but its a civil issue, so they cant do anything... what can i do?

Did you sign any paperwork transferring ownership of the vehicle. We need to know why the other person agreed to take over the payments and what they promised to give you. If you gave them the car and transferred title and the lender agreed to that, you then owe nothing on the car which you no longer own and have no basis to sue the other person as you have no damages. If the lender still is holding you at least partially liable for the loan, you have the loss of the car and you could sue for that.
