Legal Question in Civil Litigation in California

one person versus big bank corporation?

Can an individual sue or bring some type of case against a big bank that previously held that person's checking account? Ifeel that the bank made MAJOR errors that, 7 months later are still causing huge financial and emotional hardships. I asked for specific documentation copies and/or assistance from the branch office and customer service several times and was met each time with excuses or being passed to someone else, or just ignored. I also think that they may have done things against policy and unethically. I do not have money to go see an attorney. To sum this up this error has ruined my credit, I am a nervous wreck, still behind in bills, and can't even get another bank account due to this. Yet know one at this company will help me. They then closed my account with out my authority and wrote off funds they said I owed.

Can I file suit against them if for no other reasom then to get help in this? the amount might be around $3000-5000.

Sue the bank in smal claims court. You might try for Judge Judy. However, I doubt the bank would want the bad publicity, and go with Judge Judy.

Yes, you can sue. In California, you can sue for amounts under $5,000 in small claims court, which is faster and cheaper than using attorneys.
