Legal Question in Civil Litigation in California
potential law suit??
my wife and i have just returned from vacation where we went to watch fireworks from our suit in a hotel room where we had a great view. the fireworks had just started when we heard a loud noies at our front door when we turn to see what the noise was we saw a young man that had just burst into our room, i yelled at him and he ran out of the room. we call for security at they responded in a very timely manner and were able to catch the individual who is now incarerated. afterward we felt very insecure about the very nice suite we were staying in. the hotel sent up an engineer to repair the door and had to install additional locks. since then my wife who is on disability for migraine for the last ten years has had some imotional problems. my question is should i pursue leagal action and if i should against whom, thanks in advance for any insite. regards.

Re: potential law suit??
This sounds kind of tricky. As you said the hotel security responded immediately and repaired the locks on your door. Did you find out who the man was and why he burst into your hotel room? Did you and your wife suffer and other damages beside emotional distress? If you would like to email me additional facts and your reasons for liability I would be happy to review it and give you my opinion on the matter. My email is [email protected]. I hope I can help.
Sincerely,
John Hayes, Esq.

I dont see that the hotel did anything wrong but you can sue the guy in jail if you want.
