Legal Question in Civil Litigation in California

My previous employeer is holding my property.

My previous employeer has confiscated all my software and a computer sytem. I borrowed $1700.00 to purchase the computer system from the owner of a solar co. Then started to work for the man six months later. I took the system to work and all my software. he has decieded to hold the system and all my software untill he gets the balanced owed to him. my software was puchased by me and had nothing to do with the loan of the system. Can he do this? This has effected my ability to do web designing wich earned me about $900 month can I get compinsated for this loss?

No he cannot. I think you have a good case for small claims court.
