Legal Question in Civil Litigation in California

I am a prior military service member. I was discharged with an OTH. I still had a military ID and proceeded to come on and off base to bring my roommate to work. Long story short I got caught and was wondering what could the penalties be when I appear infront of the magistrate? Should I request counsel or something?

I don't know anything about military law but unless you are absolutely sure what you are facing, and it seems that you are not, I would absolutely request counsel.
