How to protect your property

My husband & I are both disabled. He was injured on the job and had 3 surgeries. he went to court & lost and now employer wants $260,000 for court cost.All we have is our home and some acerage that where my father in law is buried.

Depending on the amount of equity in your house, you might review the bankruptcy laws to see if you might qualify. Also, your attorney can try to negotiate the amount or, if it hasn't yet been ordered by the court, the court could reduce or eliminate the attorney's fee demand if attorney's fees are appropriate in the first place.
