How do you remove a lean on a residential property?

Depends, is the lien valid? If it is, you need to pay it off and once you do that, the lien holder will record a Satisfaction of Lien with the county recorder. If you think the lien is invalid, you can file a lawsuit (for fraud, etc.) or file a petition, etc.
