Legal Question in Civil Litigation in California
Removing a defendant name
An action was brought on two individuals and one was dismissed without prejudice. Can you remove dismissed defendant's name off of the complaint? What is needed. Thanks

Re: Removing a defendant name
You mean you want the clerk to take an eraser or a Sharpie and obliterate the former defendant's name from the complaint? Won't happen. Isn't being dismissed from the lawsuit enough?
Also, unless the dismissal was due to a settlement, the dismissed defendant has 15 days to file a Memorandum of Costs.
