Legal Question in Civil Litigation in California
Hi I am a renter and just moving out of my house. The landlords did a walk through and are trying to charge me for everything. Paint when I have lived her 3 years, a broken garbage disposal, a ding in the granite counter top which was already there. Please tell me, can they charge me?

You may have a difficult time in proving what damages pre-existed you moving in there. Offer them some money and them sue them in small claims for court for the deposit.

If you didn't do a walk through and document the condition of the property when you moved in, it is your word against theirs as to what you caused. It's a losing situation.
