Request for production of documents
Could someone please tell me where to find or download a legal form that is a request for production of documents.
Thanks so much for any advice.

Re: Request for production of documents
This is one of the forms not prepared by the Judicial Council! However, if you go to a law library at the courthouse, you should ask the librarian to help you find a book that tells you how to do it. Typically, you'd ask the other side in pleading format to produce documents within 30 days (35 by mail), and then list the categories of documents that you require, itemizing each one by number. Sign and date it, attach a proof of service, and mail a copy to the other side.
Re: Request for production of documents
There is no "official" form in California that I am aware of. This type of document is sometimes titled using various names besides the name you used, for example, "Demand for Production of Documents", "Inspection Demand," "Demand for Inspection," and others. I am assuming that you intend to serve a this Request to the opposing party or parties in your case. Such requests are governed primarily by California Code of Civil Procedure Sections 2031.010 through 2031.060. Responses to Request for Production are governed primarily by Section 2031.210 through 2031.320. You may want to contact your nearest "law library" to determine whether or not they have any California form or sample books or legal guidebooks (such as the Rutter Group series) on the subject. Alternatively, you may want to retain an attorney to help you draft such requests.
