Does your sister have insurance on her vehicles?
Yes, your auto insurer MIGHT defend you (you are required to put new autos on your policy so there may be a dispute on this).

Re: who is responsible and why?
State Farm might defend you but you need to take all information to your insurance agent for State Farm and have them submit it to the company. Your maximum liability, as an owner of a vehicle, is $15,000.
Re: who is responsible and why?
You need to make appointment with attorney and run over all facts and information. You need to tender this claim to your insurance carrier, however, you might want to wait until you see an attorney. Do not wait.
