You may sue the minor's parents for intentional infliction of emotional distress as they are liable for the intentional torts of their children. If the school has not taken any steps to protect your daughter from foreseeable criminal acts, then they may be joined. Please call me directly at (619) 222-3504.

(1) You can quickly move your daughter from the school to prevent harm . . . If the principal will not intervene to help on a move you can contact the school district to do so . . . Depending on the district, a parent can make a request to move a child to another school and the school may be obliged to pay for transportation . . . it just depends on the school district and the circumstances . . .

(2) You can file a lawsuit; however, short of an immediate restraining order, litigation will take time. If you do get a restraining order, find out which police unit in your community will need a certified copy to enter into their computer . . . that is the only way the police will act on a restraining order if they are called to your home or the school . . . Good luck to you . . . Patricia Ann (Patty) Lewis . . .
