Legal Question in Civil Litigation in California

Roomate dispute

1 month ago I was told by my roomate that i would have to move because he was moving to hawaii. He said it would be some time in june. I have asked him for an exact date in writing and have been getting the run around for 2 weeks. I have reason to believe he is not moving to hawaii he just wants me out for some unprovoked reason. He has never stated that I did something wrong or he never came to me and said there is a problem you have to move. My living situation is now very uncomfortable. 1. do I have to move if he is not moving. 2. Can I hold him accountable for Civil damages for decieving me into moving,

Re: Roomate dispute

You left out a few points: 1) is there a written lease for a length of time? 2) are you on the lease? 3) who's renting the apartment from the landlord? 4) to whom do you pay the rent?

Obviously, if it's uncomfortable, you might want to look elsewhere. You probably don't need the stress from the living situation.
