Legal Question in Civil Litigation in California

My roommate and I had retaliatory eviction for calling health inspection. He never appeared in court and is listed only as Does 1-10 Inclusive on U.D. Can I be joined with him only when it favors plaintiff.... I consented to personal jurisdiction but he did not. What say you?

I am not sure what you are asking. If your roommate is on the lease, he needs to be named and served. If he is not on the lease, he can be evicted as someone in possession. You and your roommate should take everything to a local landlord tenant attorney.
