Legal Question in Civil Litigation in California

Service by mail

I though I remembered there being extra time alotted for documents being served by mail, but can't seem to find a rule stating such in the FRCP. Does anyone know if this is true or not and which rule if any states the answer?

Re: Service by mail

In federal court, the subject is covered in the local civil rules for whatever district you are in (e.g. Central District of CA, 3 days). In state court it is 5 days in-state, 10 days out-of-state, 20 days internationally per CCP 1013.
