Legal Question in Civil Litigation in California

i signed a power of attorney to someone by mistake. How do cancel it ? That person does not give me a copy or want to talk to me now. I'm afraid that person will destroy all my financs. I'm only 35 years old able to do normal things.

you he the absolute right to cancel the power of attorney at any time you wish. Call the person and confirm in writing that the power is removed form them and that if they do anything under the power you will sue.

A power of attorney is usually revocable at any time by the principal, because it is created for the benefit of the principal. However, when the agency is for the benefit of the agent, it is not freely revocable by the principal. (Becket v. Welton Becket & Associates, (1974) 39 Cal.App.3d 815, 820.)

A power of attorney can be revoked orally, or in writing. I suggest from a practical standpoint that the power be revoked in writing.
