Legal Question in Civil Litigation in California
small claims court???
If someone files a lawsuit against you, does it automatically show up on your credit report or must a judgment be made after the hearing before it can be attached to your credit if you do in fact lose?

Adverse judgments are usually what shows up on your credit report. In small claims, if the defendant loses, he/she has a right to an appeal before another superior court judge where you try the whole case over again. It's called a trial de novo.
