Small Claims Court
If someone lives In Cal.,can they take me to small claims court with me living in Texas & being bedridden with a disabling disease,knowing I can't show up & make a defense.She is claiming that I owe her money for some homemade items that she left at my house.I did mail the items back to her,but she is claiming that I had more here.

they cannot unless you have some connection to CA that would give the court jurisdiction over you.
