Legal Question in Civil Litigation in California
We sold a horse 10 days ago for another party, and now the individuals that bought it are wanting to bring it back. The individuals that bought the horse came and rode the horse, and even purchased the horse at a reduced price from the asking price.
The individuals that owned the horse are no longer around, we have given them their money. Are we responsible for anything at this point ?

Tell the buyer that you were selling the horse for the owner, you do not know their current location but give them whatever information you do have, and the sale as far as you know was intended to be final. For any return of the horse they have to work it out with the owner and not you, but especially since they bought it at less then the listed price and have had the horse for ten days, you doubt the former owners will be willing to take the horse back and they have no legal obligation you are aware of to do so.
