Legal Question in Civil Litigation in California

SSN/Driver lisecense/SSN card for California

I was informed in 2001 by the DMV

that my soc. security number and

my birth day no longer match an I

cannot receive my drivers license.

This has caused me to not be allowed

to work in the US. I have had my

CDL's since 1971 with the same SSN

(since 1967) and now at 53 years of

age I am no longer able to take care

of my family and no one can help

me. I have sent my birth certificate,

copies of old drivers license, current

social security card and past military

information, federal income tax

forms and nothing is satisfactory. I

recently (in securing my birth

certificate) that at birth my mother

was unable to afford the cost of birth

so I was given the last name of her

former husband, (Cody) who at he

time was in the army so there ws

no charge for birth and as a result I

have nothing that clearly shows my

true last name as a birth document.

Now I am told I have to place

documents in the legal section of the

local newspaper for at least four

months at a cost of $400.00 and pay

legal fees of $395.00 for a hearing to

be granted a correction to my name

and recieive a drivers liscense and

social security card so I can work. My

original birth is 1 Sep 1953.
