Legal Question in Civil Litigation in California

Statue of limitations

How long does someone have to sue the parents of a minor that was convicted of a crime and is that date from the date of the crime, the date of conviction or the date of sentencing. How much can a parent of a 16 year old boy be held liable for in medical bills, I rent my property, I don't own anything except my car, I barely make ends meet as it is and now with this. Also since my son was made a ward of the court in an action before this shouldn't the state be responsible since the probation department didn't hold my son responsible for the formal probation court order

Re: Statue of limitations

I am not quite sure about the statute of limitations. However, it is unlikely that you will be sued as you have nothing from which they can collect.
