Legal Question in Civil Litigation in California

How to sue Los Angeles Unified School District?

I need to sue my employer - Los Angeles Unified School District.

They withhold some of my earnings for a bogus reason. First: 1. I need to stop them and 2. return back money withheld.

Small claims court? Who do I serve?

There is no Agent for Service of Process. Do I need to file a complaint with some other above them organization before I sue?

You probably need to go through an internal administrative process before you can bring the LAUSD to court. This is true of most claims against governmental agencies in California, especially claims made by employees.

Be sure to act quickly, as there are short limitations periods on most government claims.
