Legal Question in Civil Litigation in California
i am being sued by a party that thinks i'm the owner of a car who had a car accident.however,i sold the car to a person over 1 yr ago. how do i get out of it. i tried calling the lawyer who is sueing me but his assisant kept telling me hes "out of the office" what can i do or what forms should i fill to file before i get in trouble.

If the 30 days since service are ticking, you might file an answer and, at the same time, file a cross-complaint against the new owner.
