Legal Question in Civil Litigation in California

Suing a clothing store

To make a long story short, my wallet was stolen by an employee of a clothing store and I have proof. Charges where made on my credit cards and there was $200 in cash that was in the wallet. This occured 3 days before Christmans and I was not able to go Christmas shopping for my kids seeing that I had no credit cards, I had no access to my bank nor could I write a check because I did not have an ID, and since it was Saturday when I noticed that my wallet was gone...no company could rush me a card due to the holiday. Can I hold the clothing store liable and sue them for damages since the employee was the cause of this and the incident also happened in their store? Fraudulent charges on my credit cards where also made at the same store the following morning.

Thanks

Re: Suing a clothing store

You should take both the employee and the store to small claims court. If you haven't already, you should also report the matter to the police.
