Tactless Neighbor
My worst neighbor came near our property last week to call me an SOB and tell me to shut off my f'ing light. First of all he cursed me in front of my son. I asked if he wanted to talk and he repeated the cussing. There had been no previous attempt to communicate a problem over bright lights in the 3 and a half years my son & I have lived here. I waited a few days for an apology. Nothing! A few days later I reported it to the deputy who came to my rural residence. The residence is about a hundred yards from the neighbor and the two flood lights are not on much. But sometimes late at night I have had to use them for safety sake or garden watering or a late night bbq. Also he had a tenant with a record of burglary. Is there any law on the CA books reflecting (excuse the pun) addressing such an issue?
Also is it possible to sue him for deliberate profanity towards me and witnessed by a minor?

No, you cannot sue him for that. I suggest adjusting the lights so they cover your property and make sure they don�t aim directly at his.
