Legal Question in Civil Litigation in California

theft

I went to federal prison for 14 years and while I was gone someone had

sold two of my cars. the value is more then 50000 dollars. the police or the DMV can't seem to help the vehicles where not registered to me but I have the titles and bills of sale. is my only option to sue?
