Legal Question in Civil Litigation in California

i have a total $80000 judgement in a civil case,now they want to enforce this judgement,and except a house (market value estimate $400.000), i do not have any money to paid them.so, i wonder can they take over my house?and what will be next step for me? Can i paid them by payment?how can i ask court to decide any amount of payment for me?

You can try to work out a payment program with the plaintiff's attorney, rather than face bank levies and payroll garnishments. If you do not have the means to pay, you might think about alternatives, including bankruptcy.

I agree with mr. Cohen. The plaintiff might accept a reasonable payment plan if you have the means to make it work, but the court will not force it to. Bankruptcy might help if you have lots of other debts, but if you own a $400K house free and clear you will probably have to sell it whether you go bankrupt or not.
