Legal Question in Civil Litigation in California

The trial part of the case was on hold. The court was waiting for the defendant to give a date they could return to trial. The court web site shows no future hearings set at this time? Should we file a continuance?

No, write the Judge, copy to opposing counsel, that a date should be set since the other side will not provide one.
