tv news archives, how to access

I would like to know if I can get copies of local tv news broadcasts regarding the death of my children who were in an auto accidents. I have reason to believe the info. was released prior to my being notified of their death. i have requested it from the local tv station and was denied. they told me it had already been sent to the archives? this accident happened over 6 yrs. ago, but i requested the copies w/in the 1st year.... thankyou!
