Legal Question in Civil Litigation in California

I was walking to my local library and someone pulled over out of their vehicle and hit me in my head with an aluminum bat and also in my left leg sending me to the hospital. Do I have a civil suit can I sue them

Yes. It is called "battery." Law enforcement also should be made aware of the incident and criminal charges might be filed against that person.

If you know who it is you should report him to the authorities. And, yes, you do have a civil case against him.
