withdrawal of consent to represent

How do I write a legal notice to a lawyer of my withdrawal of their right to represent me in a non criminal matter?

If no lawsuit has been filed yet, send the lawyer a letter saying that you decided to terminate the lawyer's service, and provide you with your original file. (You might have to pay for postage, or better yet, pick it up.) If you have another lawyer who will take over, have that lawyer send a letter to the first lawyer.

If a case has been filed, you and the first lawyer would have to sign a substitution of attorney form that can be found at http://www.courtinfo.ca.gov/forms/fillable/mc050.pdf and file it with the court. Good luck!
