Legal Question in Civil Litigation in California
Last year i got about $317,000 from a wrongful death lawsuit. Well to make a long story short my step father stole all of it and went on a spending spree. I was told that if i sue him and i get a judgment in my favor i can have items in his name seized but i just found out that everything he bought (cars, dirtbikes, travel trailer, seadoo's,etc) were all put in my mothers name. So my question now is would i have to sue both of them to try to seize the assets?

Yes, you would need to sue both of them to be safe. Your mother is at fault for allowing him to use your money.
