Legal Question in Health Care Law in California
Hello, I am 17 and on 12-25-10 at around 12:15 am, I was cited for possession of Marijuana Vehicle code 13357 (b). Well since I do know my country, and State, California just imposed SB 1449, into effect of Jan 1st, 2011. I was wondering, since I am going to court because the cop signed it as a misdemeanor, will the judge possibly turn it into an infraction?

Unfortunately since the new law was in effect, you can still be charged with a misdemeanor. But the maximum penalty is the same (a $250 fine). Have fun with the situation. Plead not guilty. Demand a jury trial. Unless the DA is brickbat crazy they will reduce it to an infraction.
