Legal Question in Health Care Law in California
At an appointment with my daughters doctor I was given a card with the next appointment on it. I went to my computer as soon as I got home and entered the appointment (with a reminder) on my calender. I am sure I tossed the card at that point, since I had recorded the appointment. Today they called me and told me she was supposed to be there today, and that they were charging me for a missed appointment. Can they charge me if the secretary entered the wrong day? They did not give me the courtesy call the day before or an email or anything that would have given me a clue that we had different dates. Where is the burden of proof?

Someone made a mistake. Try to work it out with the doctor's office. If they refuse to budge, talk to the doctor herself.
