Legal Question in Health Care Law in California
COBRA and company obligation
The company I worked for (30 people) was involved in litigation and, as a result, laid everyone off indefinitely in January this year. They've paid our health care insurance for two months after this and I've been paying the company monthly since then. Now they inform me that premiums increased and they would not renew. I'm now stuck without health insurance. Doesn't COBRA laws somehow come into play here? Can someone please explain what my options are? Thanks in advance.
