Legal Question in Health Care Law in California
My daughter and I have been on medi cal and cal fresh for the past year in a Nevada county. The county is asking for her father’s information (tax) and pushing me to file for child support which I am unwilling to do. I want to maintain independence from him. How can my daughter and I stay on medi cal and calfresh without involving him?

You can't. If he has child and/or spousal support obligations under the law, you can't force the taxpayers to support you instead of him. That's the law, and it's just plain right. If you refuse to file for the support from him that you are entitled to, you are not entitled to collect public assistance.
