Legal Question in Health Care Law in California
exclusions for employment
A few years ago I trained for a health care position and s completed the course in flying colors . A few months later I was convicted of an offense (mitigating circumstances around it; burglary, and I had no way to defend myself) I was denied state certification due to this. Is there a statute of limitations on this I can wait on? I was told I might be able to override this with character references and letter of explanation of circumstances. This took place in 2000.

Yes you can pursue your licensing. You will need to convince the licensing board that you are rehabilitated. You will probably require representation for this by an attorney.
Good luck. Let me know if we can be of assistance.

You will probably be forced to go through an administrative hearing. We have done many of these and while there is no guarantee we have had reasonable success. Would be pleased to speak with you in this regard. Don Holben 800-685-6950
