Is it legal to burn a human body on a pier? As they do in India and other places in the world, for burial. Or does the united states government consdier that a health hazard?

It would be a violation of state law governing the standards and requirements for a lawful cremation unless the pyre was large enough to assure completely burning all body parts to ash. In addition, if the cremation was not performed by a licensed crematorium, it would be illegal. And if it were that large, you would almost certainly be in violation of air quality laws, and if the pier burned and fell into the water, you would almost certainly be in violation of water quality laws.
